I think that May has been such a profound month, pivotal with the structures and pillars of my working life as well as my visions. It's been a month of drawing boundaries, tending to new growth and aligning my physical space with my goals. The transformation both Siren Enchantments as well as I have been going through, took center stage this month. What is my brand? And how do I execute it in a non-traditional way? What does the eco-system that I want to work in look like?

Siren Enchantments isn't just a salon. When I got this epiphany of "this is what I want to do!" in September 2024, it wasn't about a salon, it was about creating a space to showcase craftmanship, build within the beauty industry as an uplifting actor, it was about art, passion, nature, music! It still is today and our garden acts as the twin pillar of what I now lovingly call the Sanctuary. Because that's what I wanted to create in the first place and with the place now in full bloom, an ocean of green, filled with colorful flowers and the first hints of woodland strawberries, it not only confirms the vision that I had, it strenghtens it!

While the intention to reach for everyone was ambitious at first, it also became selfdestructive, tearing away at my joy to continue doing hair. So I stepped away from acting as a generalized service provider, embracing my curated package prices that reflect much more the true value of my rituals, my choices for my business, beauty and the tranquility I wish to offer.

There was a very specific archetype this month that was coming into the picture in March already, yet in May (and it will continue in June) it was about realization. As many know I work actively with Tarot and I have a deck that I've been working with since I was 15, so over 21 years at this point. One of the Archetypes is the card IV The Lord (or The Emperor in more standardized decks). Building stable foundations, setting firm boundaries, organizing my systems and stepping into leadership. Everything my little fishy, watery, mermaidy self would rather not and instead happily dive some rounds in the pool and forget the world. This archetype popped up so many times and I was struggling trying to do a bit and then step away because it was too scary, that eventually there was no other choice but to commit and listen.

It's not that I need my cards to explain things for me, but I do like to get beaten up by the things I know but unconsciously try to bury deep. A comfort zone is exactly what it is; comfortable, but there's no room for expansion, for growth, for responsibility and the "girl. please.". It was time to get into action!

May turned into a month full of containment and cultivation and as it's only the 26th, this process isn't over just yet. With a Sojourn coming up in a little more than 2 weeks you can bet that it is an evergoing process, fascinating to witness, fantastic to be part of. Because no matter how scary change or adjustments might seem, they often bring us closer to where we need to go. That despite tougher months, losing customers to cheaper alternatives and sometimes considering quietly closing down and disappearing - it is often showing me that there's a different way of doing things.

May was about realizing my dreams and visions into this material world. To see life from a broader perspective, clarity and objectivity. To have purpose and bravery and to remain open and honest. This transition requires looking at the market without sugarcoating the hard days, while remaining fiercely vigilant in my choice to move from being 'available for all' to highly discerning.

Let’s be honest: the world is full of cheap alternatives and quick-fix spaces. If someone is just looking for a transactional, standard beauty treatment, those options exist—and that’s fine. But that is not what Siren Enchantments is about.

Yes, you can come to The Sanctuary for hair and beauty rituals, absolutely. And yes, you can come here to celebrate, land, meditate, practice yoga, and sit in moon circles. But these are no longer standalone, discounted services; they are part of a cohesive, intentional ecosystem. I am done compromising on my prices and my structures. By refusing to dilute the value of my expertise, I naturally filter out those seeking the temporary, opening the door exclusively for those who recognize the depth of what is being cultivated here.

It's a sacred responsibility to me to hold space. Learning as I go and becoming wiser yet ending up with more questions as I age.
But this space is forever a circle, I cannot have a circle without a defined edge. The compromising that I used to as an artist (accepting low pay playing jobs just to be able to play), as a employee (accepting low pay, threathening behaviour, toxic spaces, way too many hours unpaid overtime) - no. No more. Never again.

I started Siren Enchantments as a way to hone all my creative skills, a creativity that is very Pisces and might be too much of this or that for many - which is fine. I choose to run my business in a way that doesn't leave me depleted to hold deep, meditative, celebratory spaces. My boundaries are protecting my capacity to create and to work on my craftmanship.

I'm currently making a dandelion infusion for all my summer soaps and balms!
This jar will be ready in about 2 weeks and products will be ready after the Sojourn of Sirens.

May did the heavy lifting of breaking down the old structures and June, with a Sojourn that I'm looking forward to more and more every single day, will allow for moments to return to the now. It will be the closing of a major 3 year cycle. I'm not going back as the seeker looking for answers (as I did in 2023 being part of an organized journey/group), I am going back as the keeper of a Sanctuary, having organized the journey on my own. I needed the restructuring and lessons of May to fully begin to realize that.

The Archetype of IV The Lord is an energy, a structure, a story one can work with. It is the right to speak out, standing firm and speaking my boundaries out loud. This does not only shape the future, it heals all the past times where I did not speak up for myself, the times my voice was silenced and my character treated with ill intend and did not have the strength to stand up against it. Alignment to our inner truth, our inner kid and our visions isn't always comfortable, expansion stretches the skin. I want to operate with more meaning. Every treatment, every circle and every celebration, every plant in the garden (wether it serves as food, pollinator space or future compost) is part of the Siren Enchantments Consciousness.

As May winds down, I am sitting here watching a fresh batch of dandelions infuse, destined for my summer soaps and balms. It is a simple, quiet act of containment and cultivation. The old structures have been broken down, and the circle has been cast.

Next week I step into June and in a bit more than two weeks onto the paths of Glastonbury and Tintagel. But this time, the seeker isn’t the one traveling. The Keeper of the Sanctuary is simply returning to the grid to plug in, gather the light, and bring it back home to the garden and back to you my dear guest and reader. To make this world a bit more happy, to stay grounded in what I do.

Blessed May, and welcome to June, the magic is just beginning.

Stay kind,
Lene
